Miss Ellen Terry and Mr. Alex Sinclair presentCharles Dickens’ A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Writer and performer Celeste Sansregret and well-known Canadian folk musician Alex Sinclair (Tamarack) are excited to collaborate on a new project this Christmas: MISS ELLEN TERRY and MR ALEX SINCLAIR present CHARLES DICKENS’ “A CHRISTMAS CAROL.” The idea came to Celeste after she read that Dalnavert, a museum in Winnipeg housed in the former home of Sir Hugh John MacDonald, wanted proposals for new takes on Dickens’ famous Christmas story. “Men do this text all the time but seldom women. It occurred to me that Terry, who was arguably one of the most famous performers of classical texts in her lifetime might well have done a dramatic reading of the famous “ghost” story for family and friends over the holidays. Enhancing and punctuating the text with music from Dickens’ time seemed like a beautiful wayto present the timeless tale. I approached Alex and he was game. I’m really excited to have a chance to tell this story again this season.” For information on UPCOMING SHOWS, please click here.
